Before you go live: a checklist

The checks to run once, the day you install, before you tell your users the widget is there.

Run through this once, the day you install. It takes about twenty minutes, and the last section catches anything the others missed.

Install

  • The script tag is on every page your users see, once
  • Install shows installed, with your app's origin
  • Your app calls identify() for signed-in users, so they never type their email
  • Optional: signed identities show a check mark in the inbox (what that means)

Look

  • Logo and name set in Settings → Organization
  • Accent and visitor theme set in Settings → Widget
  • You've opened the widget on a phone

Team

  • The people who'll answer are invited
  • Everyone has chosen their emails in Settings → Notifications
  • Slack is connected and teem's hello is in your channel, if your team works there

Content

  • At least one Help Center article is published, so the widget shows its Help Center row
  • Your first changelog entry is published, so the widget has something under recently shipped

Test it end to end

  • Send a question from the widget and answer it from the inbox
  • Answer one from Slack too, if you connected it
  • Post a feature request, vote on it, change its status, and look for the email

Once it all works, link your public board and Help Center from your app's footer or help menu. They live at teem.so/b/your-organization and teem.so/b/your-organization/help.
